Several methods are used to create lighting in today’s games. All of them are quite intriguing and creative solutions. Lighting for games is one of the more challenging aspects of game art because the computing power required to calculate accurate lighting isn’t perfectly tuned for a real-time environment. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. As a game artist, you have to make the right choices to achieve the effect that your game requires.
