Animating Fire, Water, and Damage with Effects, Fluid Effects, Deformers, and Textures

Maya’s Fluid Effects tools include the Ocean and Pond systems. While the Ocean system deforms a NURBS or Polygon surface to create animated waves found on an ocean surface, the Pond system creates a 2D fluid container that emulates a smaller body of water.
