12.4. Using Motion XML

This exercise will guide you through the process of creating and using Motion XML from Flash in Flex. The first thing you’ll do is create a simple motion, then bring it into Flex and apply it to a component. To create these motions for Flex, you must have Flash CS3 installed. If you don’t have Flash CS3, you can download a free trial from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/.

The first step to importing and using Motion XML exported from Flash CS3 is, of course, to create the motion. To keep things easy, you’ll create a simple horizontal motion with a Blur filter applied.
