Review and Adopt the Strategic Plan
Purpose of Step
The purpose of Step 7 is to reach an official organizational decision to adopt and proceed with the strategic plan or plans. This step may merge with Step 6 (formulate strategies to manage the issues and prepare a draft strategic plan) in a single organization. But a separate step is likely to be necessary when strategic planning is undertaken for a large organization or for a collaboration or community. In the latter two cases the strategic planning coordinating committee (SPCC) will need to adopt the plan, and implementing organizations will also need to adopt it—or at least parts of it—in order for implementation to proceed effectively.
