Challenge 18. Subject Mimics Background

Description

Repetition is pleasing to the eye, and it can come in many forms. One way to intrigue the viewer is to have some element of your subject mimic the background. Perhaps the polka dots on a dress mimic the polka dots on a wall. Perhaps your subject’s dress mimics the shape or color of the structure behind her. Perhaps a pose mimics an element of the surroundings.

This challenge will help you to see and think in a different way. Over the next week, really survey your environment and look for strong elements you can mimic.
