Abstract
The security of networks and network data is a top priority for network and service providers. Therefore, encryption methods are used to protect data when multiple communications occur during a data exchange. However, traditional encryption techniques are known, and attackers know the solution. Therefore, new cryptographic algorithms are required to increase the complexity and security of the data encryption. To address these security threats, we propose a cryptographic algorithm that provides confidentiality, integrity, and source authentication (CIA). We used the convenience of public-key encryption for key exchange and a symmetric key for fast encryption time. To protect user data and session keys, we used Rivest Shamir Adleman (RSA) public-key encryption, Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) symmetric encryption, and the Cyclic Redundancy Checksum (CRC) error detection methods. We used design science research methodology to achieve our objectives. MATLAB was used for simulation purposes. In the experiment, we performed four encryptions ...
