Introduction

Creative work—the joint novelty and usefulness of ideas about products, processes and services—is vital to organizational success and often done in teams (Amabile, 1988). However, the conditions that foster it are not very well understood, as it is associated with complex interpersonal processes between leaders and followers who interact in the creative process.
