Chapter 2. Focus the Effort: Analyze Quality Risks
Within the operational and organizational context established for our testing process, there are many tests we might run. In any real-world, complex system, the number of tests we could conceivably run would take person-years—if not person-centuries—to develop and execute. Somehow, we must focus on the vital test conditions we should assess, removing from consideration the enormous set of relatively unimportant conditions we might assess. What separates what we might test from what we should test? Quality.
