2 To Meet a Deadline

The first set of questions to ask are: Whose deadline is it? How did it originate? Is it realistic? A management tool referred to as the Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) can be and is often used to schedule, organize, and ensure that tasks are accomplished. This technique actually originated in 1958 with the development of the Polaris missile. The use of this method requires the listing of each activity that must be performed in the completion of a project, and equally important the time required to perform the activity from the beginning to the end of each task.
