ActiveX | A loosely defined set of technologies developed by Microsoft. ActiveX, formerly known as Network OLE control, is a segment of binary codes that can run only on the platform for which it was compiled. ActiveX is an outgrowth of two other Microsoft technologies called OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) and COM (Component Object Model).
