Data migration refers to the programmatic duplication of data from one application or system to another. It’s an important element of many CRM projects. Consider an organization implementing a new CRM application: once the software is installed, the application is essentially empty. It contains no customer account, contact, or lead information. This information would have to be entered manually by the users as needed, gradually populating the CRM database, which is an arduous, inefficient, frustrating process.
