7Monster Drive
When they approached the second hole, a beverage cart with the golf club's logo on it was waiting for them. A peppy blonde sat in the driver's seat and waved as they pulled up. Everyone had pared the hole, so there was nothing to report there.
“What a warm welcome!” Bobbi said, putting the golf cart in park. “I'll take one, two, three. . .,” pointing at her friends and then looking at Austin, unsure. “Four?” she asked, looking over at Alex for approval.
“Not yet. Few more years.” Alex said, looking at Austin apologetically.
Collin said, “Years? It'll be months. Your baby is headed to college in the fall. A few more months, and that's it.”
“Three beers and a water,” Bobbi said to the beverage cart driver who was already digging in the back of her cooler. Bobbi paid and handed the drinks out to the group. “To good friends, a great golf game, and Alex's trusty Business Bible,” she said, raising her beer bottle. They clinked their bottles together, and all four took a swig.
“So Alex, you'll keep score?” Bobbi asked, setting her drink in the cup holder and taking a driver out of her bag. Alex shot Austin a glance, and Austin nodded reassuringly.
“Yeah. I got it,” he said, waving the small card in the air. Austin grabbed herself a scorecard.
Collin's phone rang, and he glanced at the screen. He walked away from the group and put the phone to his ear. “Hey babe. . .,” ...
