After we introduced Currently to her new home, we began to prepare her and ourselves for the arduous journey to come. We signed up with the AGLCA—the America’s Great Loop Cruisers Association—to be harbor hosts. That way, we could be there to help boats come in and tie up. We’d have local knowledge about the river and Chattanooga. We’d meet other boaters as they came through and share in their journey.
We met Mike and Beth on Amy Marie, another blue-and-tan Ranger Tug. We’d follow the couple’s journey on their blog and meet with them several times, culminating in a three-week run down from Chicago to the Tennessee River.
