Chapter 15Are We Settlers or Locusts?

Leaving Mobile Bay behind, Currently glided into the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), and we could immediately see the appeal. Protected from the elements, the businesses on the ICW beckoned small boats and big. Restaurants, marinas, hotels, and condos provided a vastly different feel from the rivers we’d recently traversed. A quick glance down at our Garmin showed a thin strip of water in what we would later recognize as a fairly typical stretch of ICW.
