Diplomatically speaking, guests on the loop are challenging. Visiting well-meaning Marco Polos imagine themselves cruising through undiscovered pristine beaches and stopping at five-star restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Since there are two captains on board, one is always available to break out the blender, throw together some mai tais, and dazzle them with stories. They see Tom Cruise in Cocktail weirdly crossed with Captain Jack Sparrow. That’s the Hollywood version. The reality show is a bit more, shall we say, rustic.
