Chapter 29From Dock to Dock and Bar to Bar
Once we hit the Virginia state line at the Dismal Swamp, we closed out one chapter of the loop and moved on to the next. We’d already completed the southern rivers, the Gulf Coast, Florida, and the southern half of the Atlantic. We’d gone from several months behind to surfing the leading edge of loopers, putting ourselves in a great position to do a couple of side trips we’d tentatively circled. Our next stop opened the next chapter, Chesapeake Bay. After the great bay, we’d have only another couple of weeks on saltwater. These were massive accomplishments.
Still, we had a couple of moments of what I would call modest concern. Most sane people would call our mental state full-on, hysterical freak out. ...
