As we pulled into Great Kills Yacht Club, we knew we’d hit a significant landmark. We’d cut across both of the main bodies of saltwater on our voyage—the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Though we’d be dealing with tides for another week or two, we’d effectively made the transition from seas to rivers.
