Agile development An IT development philosophy that argues in favor of quick, incremental implementations that focus on small, combined teams of users and developers, and quick turnaround of small slices of functionality. See Bottom-up development.
Analytical CRM The analysis of data originating front-office or operational CRM combined with other organizational or external data in order to evaluate key business measures such as customer value, purchases by segment, or customer profitability.
Analytical systems Technology that accesses and presents detailed information for the purposes of operational and strategic decision making. See Business intelligence.
Application programming interface (API) A set of routines that an application uses to request and carry out lower-level services.
Automated workflow The automation of business processes that have been optimized through business process modeling. Workflow systems usually involve moving data through a process, such as order and fulfillment, in which the data is touched multiple times by various systems and individuals.
Basel II Also called Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, Basel II is a set of international regulations aimed at standardizing the way the banks and banking regulators approach risk management across international borders. The regulation weights loan risks differently depending on the type of borrower, and lays down guidelines for determining the minimum solvency requirements.
