London-based artist Nathan James primarily uses collage as a tool to create his compositions, working digitally then recreating the image on canvas: ‘When I’ve got something I can work with I’ll print it, grid it up and start to work on the canvas with paint. The finished product is often very different from the idea I started with.’ His energetic pieces are packed with images associated with youth culture, such as kids partying and skateboard graphics, as well as nostalgic elements such as vintage fabric and wallpaper prints.
