Daily trips to the flea market have played havoc with Anu Tuominen’s living arrangements. Her three studios/ storage spaces are now full, and so is her flat. ‘I am too lazy to go to my studios,’ she jokes, ‘I work at home on the sofa watching television at the same time.’ The Helsinki-based artist created her first collaged piece after discovering some old maps in the rubbish. It’s important to her that she only uses discarded objects in her work: ‘I like to use old school books, books that are not rare, not valuable.
