One of the things that is unique to dance is that when you get into the theatre, either for load in or for tech, there is a very good chance that you are going to be the only designer that’s actually in the room. How you choose to deal with that can make a big difference in how the production looks and how often you get asked back to work with that company or choreographer. You are often the only person that can really make the thing look right, the only one who is there with the sole purpose of creating an artistic statement.
