Obtaining bar charts with frequencies

For this first set of graph examples, we will use a small sample of General Social Survey (GSS) data from 2016 that was the basis for the examples in Chapter 3, Statistics for Individual Data Elements. Open the SPSS data file you created earlier (or download and open the full GSS2016 following the steps in Chapter 3, Statistics for Individual Data Elements).

In Chapter 4, Dealing with Outliers and Missing Data, there are many examples of using the SPSS syntax to create results. If you prefer that approach, use it here as well. The graphs shown here will use the dialog boxes to request the results but using the Paste button rather than OK, you can generate the associated SPSS syntax.
