The Means procedure

The examples in this chapter will use the 33-variable subset of the General Social Survey data from 2016 that was the basis for the examples in Chapter 3, Statistics for Individual Data ElementsChapter 4, Dealing with Missing Data and Outliers, and Chapter 10, Crosstabulations Patterns for Categorical Data. Open the SPSS data file you created earlier (or download and open the full GSS2016 following the steps in Chapter 3Statistics for Individual Data Elements). Use the following to bring up the main dialog box:
