Communicating Before, During and After a Breach

Abstract

This chapter outlines the role of communications in the event of a cyber Breach, using crisis communications approaches. It takes readers through how to manage, prepare and guide communication plans, and promotes the concept of a holistic Cyber Resilience approach, based on paradigm shifts in crisis management communications, rather than a narrow focus and reliance on Cyber Security alone.

The chapter explains the three stages of a good crisis communications plan, from before, during, and after a crisis in the wake of a cyber Breach, and the Assess, Resolve, and Control (A.R.C.) approach while managing an active crisis.
