Implementing Cloud Storage in Your Operation

Paving the way to take advantage of cloud

1.  Start with a small application at Service Level 3 or 2, for trial deployment; definitely not Service Level 1.

Establish pass/fail criteria for (typically) uptime, performance, and cost. Establish a timeline and track problems and resolutions.

2.  Set up a process to protect data (snapshots and restores), include a restore-testing SLA, an uptime SLA, and an average performance SLA.
3.  Set up processes to migrate data onto the cloud storage, and processes to migrate data off the cloud storage. You need to migrate data from Tier 1 to Tier 2 to Tier 3 anyway, so why not migrate to cloud storage
