They constitute the raw material indispensable to the trademark activity of the new century: data intelligence. But we must be careful because a lot of data is not always the “right data”. This is therefore an underlying issue that does not mean that the quality in the dataset is necessarily better. Good results can be achieved by making better use of available data. The latest technologies such as Smart, 4G and Cloud, as well as the advent of the Internet, data processing and data mining software have enabled the exploitation of data.
Today, data comes to us from everywhere: geolocation sensors, smartphones and social networks, where we share files, videos, photos of customers' online shopping transactions and banking transactions via bank cards.
Data has always had strategic value. According to Taylor (1980), the value of information begins with an input that acquires value as it evolves to achieve the objective of expressing a decision-making action. But with the breadth of data available today and the capacity to process it, it has become a new asset class.
The acceleration of the digital age and technological advances have turned information scarcity into information overload.
