One of the key requirements of a governing body in the 21st century is to protect organisational data and information through directing good information security practice. Developing a data strategy and the associated data policy to deliver to an organisational vision and mission are the first steps on the data governance journey. Once a data-enabled service or product is in place, information security is a key consideration. Can the service be hacked or compromised? Does this situation get more complicated to monitor if the data-enabled service is part of an IoT delivery?
