15.1  Introduction

In Chapter 10 – Data Structures for Longitudinal Analysis, we discussed the different data structures that can be found in the context of longitudinal data.

In the following sections we will show how the data structure can be switched between the three main data mart structures and also between combinations of them. In time series analysis there is a need to prepare the data in different structures in order to be able to specially analyze VALUES and CATEGORIES.

We will use the following abbreviation in our naming:

•  the standard time series form  (STANDARD)
