Governing and Stewarding Your Data Using Data Domains

Abstract

Data domains are logical groupings of data. Business data elements and related metadata are managed at the data domain level. Doing so has many advantages over business function–driven Data Stewardship, but is also more difficult to do and requires a mature Data Governance organization. Data domains are managed by the Data Domain Council. The Data Domain Council is made up of Business Data Stewards, a Lead Data Steward, and a Data Domain Council Manager.
