Chapter 9. Data and Metadata Validation
We have presented a lot of information about the application's data and metadata. Before charging ahead to use it, we need to evaluate its accuracy and completeness.
It is not uncommon for metadata to appear to be correct and authoritative, only to have us find out later that the data doesn't match it. This must be found and corrected early in the process.
It is also important to determine the usefulness of the collected information. Will people who are not on the project be able to interpret the documentation you have produced and use it to access archive data? Users of the archive years into the future will be such people.
