Chapter 20. Nonoperational Sources of Data
Thus far we have had a thorough discussion of database archiving revolving around saving data from operational databases. The data represents the official corporate version of the business objects. It is the place where anyone wanting a legally authentic version of your data would look.
We'll close this book by discussing some special cases of operational data sources and other data sources that are nonoperational and the way archive mechanisms can be considered and used. This is not an exhaustive list. There will probably be many more examples in which unusual applications will find use of the database archiving system.
