Analyzing Your Data

You cannot press a button and expect all your data analysis to be conducted automatically. Data analysis involves detailed examination of the elements or structure of your data and can be fundamental to business decision-making.

The following sections introduce techniques for data analysis and describe the best circumstances in which to apply them. Even well-recognized data analytic techniques can be applied incorrectly and it is important to know what pitfalls to look for.
