Capturing Video

The Canon EOS RP can shoot full HDTV movies with stereo sound at 3840 × 2160 (4K) resolution, 1920 × 1080 (Full HD) resolution, or video at 1280 × 720 (Standard HD) resolution.

Shooting movies on the spur of the moment is easy, even if you are currently in any still shooting mode. Just press the Movie button (located on top of the camera to the southwest of the shutter release and marked with a red dot). To stop shooting, press the button again. That’s all there is to it. Unless you’ve changed the default settings, Movie Autoexposure and Movie Servo AF will be enabled and you won’t need to concern yourself with exposure or focus. ISO sensitivity is set automatically.
