Working with Lenses

Although the a6300’s E-mount lens system is fairly new, introduced with the original NEX-3 and NEX-5 cameras in 2010, the number of lenses that operate with full autoexposure and autofocus features is large and growing rapidly. In addition to E-mount lenses intended for your a6300’s APS-C sensor, additional full-frame FE lenses for the Alpha a7 series are available from Sony, Zeiss, and other vendors. These FE lenses can also be used with the a6300.

If you’re willing to use an adapter, there are at least 100 or more different lenses in Sony/Minolta A-mount or Canon EF-mount—often available at bargain prices—that can be used on your a6300 or Sony a7 II-series full-frame camera (if you have one), with autofocus and autoexposure. ...
