In this chapter, the techniques of how to populate and extract DB2 data using the LOAD, IMPORT, and EXPORT utilities will be examined. The differences between these utilities will be examined along with the scenarios that would favor using one over another.

Additional maintenance topics will include examining the physical data placement and gathering statistics. Some of the utilities examined will include REORGCHK, REORG, RUNSTATS, and REBIND.
