DB2 Text Extender provides powerful and flexible full-text search functionality that is faster than traditional SQL. It is best suited to environments where linguistic processing is essential and the need for rich search capability outweighs the retrieval time. In addition to linguistic searches, it also supports boolean, wildcard, free-text, and fuzzy searches. Text Extender is capable of proximity searches for words within the same paragraph and sentence, or documents.
