Abstract
This chapter seeks to build off the definition and examples of social entrepreneurship provided in this book and work to codify the conditions that cultivate social entrepreneurs, their ventures, and the ecosystems where they thrive. Additional effort will be invested in describing the metaphorical roots of entrepreneurial ecosystems and integrating an extension of this ecological metaphor with the phenomenon referred to as the edge effect.
