Chapter 13: Maths behind Regression
Let's understand the mathematics behind regression in this chapter. We will use an example to get started. Many of us have been told by our teachers and parents to study more to get more marks. Some have used this strategy successfully, while others have not got desired results. So, there is clearly a relationship between the number of hours studied and marks obtained for the former, while this relationship doesn’t hold for the latter. This relationship can be explained mathematically using the concept of regression.
