10. Technology Enablers
There are a wide range of technologies that enable the development of Decision Management Systems. The core technologies are the business rules management, predictive analytic, and optimization systems that can be used to build Decision Management Systems. Pre-configured Decision Management Systems are also increasingly available, offering pre-packaged systems for particular decision areas such as insurance claims, loan approval, or marketing offers selection. Database and data warehouse technologies, especially those that offer in-database analytics, have a role, as does a service-oriented architecture that supports both a process- and event-centric development approach.
