When you purchase software, you can always expect an update sooner or later. Some applications require updates regularly, like antivirus and antispyware software, while others require updates only a few times a year (or less). You should get these updates when they are offered, for several reasons: they make the software more secure, repair known problems, and oftentimes offer a new interface and/or new features. This is certainly the case with Media Player updates, although iTunes updates seem to be less dramatic. One of the first things involved in general degunking is to check for these updates.
