Physically Clean the Machine

I’m not going to say that if you physically clean your machine you’ll get better performance, but I will say that if you do, it’ll likely last longer than it would if you never clean it. For instance, you absolutely must use canned air at least a few times a year to clean the dust out of the inside of your computer case and to clean out the fan vents. That dust can cause real problems by physically settling on sensitive internal parts and causing them to gunk up (often by overheating)! Additionally, gunk in between keyboard keys can cause them to stick. You don’t need a new keyboard; you only need to clean the one you have.
