Improve Performance

Degunking has several components, but they generally fall into one of only a few areas: you want to increase performance, be better organized, or be safer and more secure. In this chapter, we’ll cover them all. You can improve IE’s performance quickly by removing toolbars and managing add-ons, and you can use Compatibility View when a web site isn’t working the way you think it should. You can improve security by clearing form data and using InPrivate Browsing. And you can be more organized by culling that long list of Favorites or possibly choosing another browser that is sleeker and cleaner. Let’s start with performance.
