So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Installation/Setup
For our purposes, we will only be installing the Mono runtime environment. If you have an interest in understanding Mono in more depth, I encourage you to install the source and build Mono with its own C# compiler, mcs.
The Mono runtime environment is most quickly set up on Linux through an RPM distribution. Packages for various versions of Red Hat, Fedora, Mandrake, and SuSe are available through Novell/Ximian’s Red Carpet installation utility. There is also a Windows installer if you’d like to try out Mono on Microsoft Windows. If you want to run Mono with Apache, install Apache before proceeding with the Mono installation.
