Proper planning is a critical step to any successful WAAS deployment. Understanding the business goals, project goals, expected results, and technical requirements when deploying WAAS helps to ensure that the proposed solution and design can meet those goals. Most problems encountered during the deployment of a WAAS solution stem from not having a complete understanding of the environment in which the solution is being deployed. Treating the existing infrastructure and its characteristics as part of the requirements for the solution will help prevent issues during the deployment phase of the project.
