It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Deployment preparation
Software update deployment will be presented using a feature that has become available in ConfigMgr 2012, Automatic Deployment Rules, as it fills the previous gap in maintaining updates using ConfigMgr. At the end of this section, the main differences between manual and automatic deployments will be outlined as well. Automatic updates are always deployed in the Required mode, so there is a deadline after which the deployment will be triggered. The user can only postpone installation for certain short periods of time. There is a reason why it is important to precisely specify what application types are going to be deployed using this feature.
