Case Study 2: Large Wholesale SP
Requirements: Most of the requirements are similar to Case Study 1. However, some of the parameters change:
Subscriber base— The DSL wholesale provider expects a substantial increase in the subscriber base in the range of 300,000–500,000.
ISP’s interfaces— The ISP expects minimal interface from the wholesale provider. The ISP expects the SP to hand off subscribers aggregated on fewer VCs, instead of one VC per subscriber.
Subscriber ratio— Based on different ISP’s requirements, the residential subscribers are approximately 70 percent, and small to medium business subscribers are approximately 30 percent.
