There are companies that have applied the principles of Operational Excellence and “jumped” their operational performance to support offense quickly. Some have achieved the results previously described, while others are well on their way. We will review some of these companies in Part IV of this book, our case study section. While these companies have used continuous improvement to transform their operation to support business growth in a short amount of time, most companies are working on eliminating waste to increase productivity and efficiency, and they are bound to the staircase of continuous improvement.
