In some projects you get the opportunity to start the way you want to go. In the case of NxStage, a manufacturer of hemodialysis equipment, the entire project used a design thinking approach. We started with problem definition and used almost every technique we describe in this book. This chapter highlights what we did and the outcomes we achieved by using a design thinking approach. It’s also something we’ve now done twice. The first time was in 2009-2010. The more recent time was in 2019.
