Four Common Problems When Working with Color

Avoid using color to embellish, or “brighten up,” your pages. Decorative color can easily get in the way of your message.

1. Avoid too much color

Emphasis and image are lost when color is over-used. Avoid newsletters printed entirely in colors other than black, especially if photographs are included!

2. Light colored text

Bright colored text often looks better on-screen than it does when printed. This is because your monitor projects light, printed pages reflect light.
