Clarifying and Reinforcing Your Message

Using Sidebars
Sidebars make it easy to orchestrate the hierarchy and sequence of the way your readers approach your message. Sidebars consist of short “mini-articles” extracted from longer stories. A sidebar can be used to:
Draw attention to ideas that would otherwise be lost within a longer story.
Present information on a topic that might otherwise distract the reader from the ongoing narrative by introducing details not critical for understanding the “big picture.”
Sidebars should appear next to the longer story but be visually distinct. ...
